At Twin Rivers Bird Taxidermy, we provide Services for all species of ducks and most geese and most upland game.
There are a couple of bird species that we do not provide taxidermy services for.
We do not take Turkeys but with the exception of Yucatan Ocellated Turkeys. You must have a USDA certified shop handle the transfer of skins after customs before it can reach my shop.
No large canada geese, swans, dove, snipe, woodcock
Please refrain from mounting pheasants shot earlier than Thanksgiving or try to provide a spare bird. They plume out rather late and can be deceiving. Feather loss is enormous on early season upland
Liability Terms
This is an LLC (Limited Liability Company)
First off, no refunds. All commissions are final. Price haggling will result in denied services, my prices are firm.
I am not liable for any damages to birds before, during or after the taxidermy process. This includes slippage, pinfeathers, late shipment arrival rot/poor insulation of shipped birds, major shot damages or oil spots from freezer burn. This is mostly based on specimen care BEFORE a bird comes to my studio. Every bird is handled with utmost care and mounted to my best ability.
I am not liable for shipping damages. I pack the birds diligently with the proper materials wih the intention to keep the bird from moving. All damages must be disputed with the carrier, not me. To put blame on me for shipping issues after I have already packaged the birds to my best ability is a breach of contract. You also may not trash my work online or accuse me if a bird is damaged in shipping, for I am not liable and being rude will result in discontinued service. You will have been given a liability disclaimer before the order was shipped that must be abided by. Once the bird is out of my hands, I am powerless.
I am not liable for bug damage such as carpet moths, which eat feathers and hair off mounts. It is your responsibility to take care of your mounts or they will not have longevity. You need to dust and bug fog mounts 3 times a year for general upkeep. My shop is kept clean.
I am not liable for pet damage or damage done by any other person. Keep mounts in a safe place, they are more fragile than glass in many instances.
If a bird were to fall a bit short of expected quality....
It will likely have been the result of specimen issues that I have to work around. I cannot control what I may have to repair. I have printed references in my studio and do my research. I attend many shows to keep producing better work year by year. You are hiring a professional here and not every mount will be perfect. My work is unique to me, do not compare me to others. I do not refund work as you are under contract, unless if I truly know I made a mistake on my behalf. If I make a true mistake, only half may be refunded on the bird only, after proper and polite discussion.
If you are not polite in dispute or make the wrong decision to post it on social media, you will be denied further services and may be confronted civily if the issue is not handled professionally.
Things can shift while the birds are drying before pickup. Skins can flex, paint may have a slight defect if the mount isn't handled appropriately. Sometimes in rare cases glued areas may delaminate. Some birds are either super obese or lean and can affect how the skin dries. Habitat is fragile, treat like glass. Water scenes collect dust easily. Birds can leak grease in rare circumstances and can be treated with laquer thinner. I do my best to get the skins as clean as possible, but it's something that can happen from any bird taxidermist, it's not a 1 shop issue.
